Providing nutrition support for every age and stage of life.
Hi, I’m Julie Avery, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Lactation Counselor and the founder of Serenity Nutrition.
Before becoming a dietitian, I spent more than 25 years as a research scientist studying nutrition, growth, and development. I loved research and the opportunity to contribute to discoveries that could improve health on a larger scale, but research can take decades to translate into meaningful change. I found myself wanting something more personal and tangible. The opportunity to sit with people, understand their individual challenges and goals, and use science to make a difference in their life today.
That desire led me to nutrition and dietetics, and ultimately to build Serenity Nutrition.
Today, I combine my scientific background with personalized, compassionate nutrition care. My areas of focus include women’s health, pregnancy and postpartum nutrition, breastfeeding and lactation, infant and child feeding, digestive health, chronic disease management, medical nutrition therapy, and nutrition support health and wellbeing.
My research background continues to shape the way I practice. Nutrition information can be confusing with no shortage of conflicting recommendations, and “quick fixes.” I help clients sort through the noise, understand the science, and translate evidence into practical strategies that work for their bodies, families, lifestyles, and goals.
When you work with me, you won’t receive a one-size-fits-all diet or a list of foods to fear. We’ll look at the holistic picture and create realistic changes you can thrive with.
For me, one of the most rewarding parts of being a dietitian is seeing the impact of that work firsthand. Helping someone feel better, nourish a pregnancy, overcome feeding challenges, improve their health, or simply feel confident about food again fuels my heart.
At Serenity Nutrition, science provides the foundation and your individual needs, goals, and life shape the plan.
